Media Release: Admiralty House Communications Museum Collecting Memories of the Mount Pearl Frosty Festival

November 16, 2020 – Mount Pearl, NL – Admiralty House Communications Museum is pleased to launch a new oral history  initiative focusing on the Mount Pearl Frosty Festival. 

Supported by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, through the Cultural Economic Development Fund, Admiralty House will be conducting oral interviews with community members to record and preserve memories of the Mount Pearl Frosty Festival over the past four decades. 

“The Mount Pearl Frosty Festival is foundational to the sense of community in Mount Pearl. For nearly 40 years, the festival has brought life, laughter and friendship to our winter season. We look forward to collecting and preserving the many memories that have been shaped by the Frosty Festival.” said Sarah Ryan, Museum Manager. 

Admiralty House is also encouraging anyone with memories of the Mount Pearl Frosty Festival to share their memories online at https://bit.ly/2H6vrZb. Admiralty House Communications Museum will also be collecting photographs from the community to scan for this project.
