Happy Historic Places Month!

To celebrate, Admiralty House Communications Museum will be offering FREE admission on Saturday, July 24th! Come explore our beautiful grounds and learn about exciting history right in your own backyard.

Enjoy fascinating, surprising, and once top-secret stories. This historic building was originally constructed in 1915 by the Marconi Telegraph Co. during the First World War as the top-secret H.M. Wireless Station for the British Royal Navy. This station, now the last standing of the 11 identical stations around the world, was built to intercept secret German naval transmissions, track icebergs and ships in distress.

July is an exciting month because it is also National Trust's Historic Places Days from July 3rd to 31st! Historic Places Days has launched several contests that you can avail of while visiting registered historic places in Canada.

The first is a selfie contest! All you have to do is post your selfie with the tag #HistoricPlacesDays, tag the historic place, and follow @nationaltrustca on any platform that you post the selfie. You can be entered to win $1000 for yourself and $1000 for the site!

The second is a giveaway. Submit a photo of your favourite historic site to https://historicplacesdays.ca/contests-giveaway/. By doing this, you will be entered to win one of twenty-eight prizes from National Trust Canada.

The third contest encourages you to create your own #VisitList. Your #VisitList is an adventure featuring local registered historic places that you hope to take! Create your list on social media and tag it with #VisitList for your chance to win $500!

We hope to see you all this summer!
