Dear Clarrie

I think when I wrote to you in December I promised I would write again early in the year. What I had in my mind was chiefly in regard to the interest which would be due this spring on your $650. Mortgage. I waited before writing to see how I was going to come out myself. and I think the interest on the $250. was remitted on percent of commission etc.

Now suppose we fix it this way for the sake of simplicity. We will consider all …

this will relieve you of all worry in the matter until the end of/16. when I will expect it.

My sole object Clarrie is to help you to the to the extent of my ability. and hope this will be satisfactory.

of course as long as I hold my job I can rub along pretty comfortably I received the letter from the children this morning I may reply at once altho I have very little news to write them since I answered Bob a few weeks ago. I had a letter from Jim on Saturday he has resigned from the Marconi Co and has a position with the Imperial Govt. at Mount Pearl. near St. John’s N.F. Land. I also had a letter from my Brother Alf in Conn.

ORIGINAL POST:

Good morning, everyone!

Our Collections Manager, Megan, is taking a look at some documents in preparation for another Stories from the Station post, and we need your help! James "Jim" Woodbury McLellan Bouteillier worked at the Marconi Company from 1906 to 1915 and served at the H.M. Wireless Station in Mount Pearl from September 1915 to December 1918 as a Telegraphist. The images below were donated by Jill Martin and are of a letter sent from Jim's father, Robert Jarvis Bouteillier, to his son and Jim's brother, Clarence Edwin Bouteillier. There are a couple of words that we can’t quite decipher - if you have any ideas and would like to communicate them to us we would be grateful! You can see the letter below:

James Bouteillier Letter 2

If you have any ideas, please contact Megan by email at admiraltymuseum@gmail.com or phone (709) 748-1124. Thank you!
