Yesterday the Admiralty House hosted our very first Memory Mug Up! And if we do say so ourselves, it was a smashing success!

We heard a wide variety of stories -- from stealing turnips to placing pennies along the train tracks, fishing and hunting, rough winter days, and even a ghost story that chilled us to the bone!
But, the main thing taken from our event, was the sense of community that everyone seems to attribute to Mount Pearl. Many people told us they chose to move into Mount Pearl as they started families in the 70’s and 80’s, as it was the perfect place to raise children. Many attendees remarked the sense of family here in the city that was unlike anywhere else. You could rely on people; everyone helped each other and it was easy to make lifelong friends.
We’d like to sincerely thank everyone who came out to chat with us. We aim to build onto these Mount Pearl memories and preserve the community spirit in a booklet that is scheduled to launch at the end of the summer, and we couldn’t do it without your help!
